Other than knowing nothing about who will vote for whom in these confusing, deliberately issue-less elections, the other thing that confuses most Indians, including this writer is this thing called 'Delimitation of constituencies'.
Having lived in South Delhi for 15 years, I got to know in a newspaper that RK Puram and Munirka were now part of the East Delhi constituency. The East Delhi that we knew used to be 18 kilimeters and at least 40 lakh people away.
1. Where is the supporting data and reasoning, or do I have to use RTI to look at the underlying facts?, and
2. Is delimiting constituencies based on caste any good after 60 years of Independence?
I know candiates who are now considered outsiders just because theeir Legislative Assembly constituency has been cut off and added to other Lok Sabha seat. Can't we have at least revolving reserved seats?
